History
In 2025, the Connecticut Yuletide Carolers proudly celebrated their 20th anniversary season. Founded in 2006 by Guilford residents Michael and Lori Cartwright, the ensemble began with a simple idea—to bring the joy of traditional holiday caroling to Connecticut!
After relocating from Delaware, where Michael had sung with a caroling group, the Cartwrights were surprised to find no similar ensemble in their new home state. Drawing on their community theater connections and Lori’s background in arts administration, they gathered six singers and launched the Connecticut Yuletide Carolers. That first year, the group performed at a dozen events—planting the seeds of what would become a beloved holiday tradition.
Now, two decades later, the Carolers have grown into a statewide favorite. With a roster of more than 30 professional singers, they perform at over 100 events each season across Connecticut and beyond. Their charming performances have even made their way onto the screen, appearing in several holiday films shot in the state, including four Hallmark Channel “Countdown to Christmas” movies filmed in Connecticut.
Performing as quartets in elegant Victorian-inspired costumes, the Connecticut Yuletide Carolers bring the spirit of the season to life with their lush a cappella harmonies. Their repertoire blends timeless carols with modern holiday favorites, delighting audiences at festivals, tree lightings, shopping centers, country clubs, senior centers, libraries, and private gatherings. Audience participation is always encouraged—especially when it involves jingling bells and singing along!
As they mark this special milestone, the Connecticut Yuletide Carolers continue to share the warmth, nostalgia, and joy that have defined their performances for 20 years—spreading holiday cheer, one song at a time.
